Hi Spotify Developer Support,

I ran into what appears to be a bug or significant UX oversight in the developer dashboard tonight.

I created an app before I had Spotify Premium set up. The dashboard allowed me to create it but showed an error indicating Premium was required. I then set up Premium, but was told I could only have one app. I deleted the original app to create a fresh one with clean credentials tied to my Premium account — at which point I was told I had "created too many apps" and am locked out for 24 hours.

The issues here:
1. No warning that deleting an app would count against a creation rate limit
2. No indication that a rate limit existed before I hit it
3. The entire situation was caused by the dashboard allowing app creation before Premium was verified

I'm not trying to abuse the platform — I'm a developer trying to set up a legitimate MCP integration. I'm now blocked for 24 hours through no fault of my own, due to a cascade of missing guardrails in your own dashboard flow.

Could you either reset my rate limit or provide a workaround? Happy to verify my account details.

Hi you're right that the flow here isn't great, and I appreciate you flagging the specific sequence that led to the block.

The 24-hour rate limit should lift automatically, and you'll be able to create your app after that window passes.
