Hi,

When trying to get a release date for a track that originates in a compilation, I get the compilation release date. for example, track ID 000mFaHFqvtU9bYShUFMlk which is "Mellow Yellow" by Donovan, originally released in 1967, shows 2012 instead. Is there any way to find the original track release date?

To reliably get the earliest release date for a track, you would have to search for the track and then look up each of the albums that have the track and get their release date.

That would mean searching by track name and could lead to some errors. If, for instance, the track originating in the compilation is a live recording from 1970 of a track originally released in 1967 but shares the same name.

I think I will just disregard the release date of compilation albums.
