Plan

Premium

Country

USA

Device

Web

Operating System

Void Linux, Linux Kernel 6.1.9

My Question or Issue

I'm looking to create a small web player for OBS to show. Because this web player is fully client-side, I do not want to reauthorize everytime I open OBS. The web player should not be able to control the playback. I only wish to show which song is currently playing, which author it's by and a small thumbnail of the album/song. Maybe a progress bar for later on.

This is fully client-side, I do not want to have server software running in the background. Which authorization flow would I use? Additionally, which endpoints would I use to get the current song and how would I know when the user has paused or changed the current song?

And finally, is any of what I'm doing against the Spotify ToS? I've done a quick glance over it and I do not think I'm breaking it, however a second opinion would be great.
