New API Bug 12/13 March: Recommendation Endpoint returns empty list if seed is only genre.

Hey!

I have been using the recommendation API endpoint GET https://api.spotify.com/v1/recommendations with a genre seed for several months, and it was working fine.

As of last weekend (12th / 13th) March 2023, it returns an empty list:

This can be reproduced using the API console:

1.) Go to https://developer.spotify.com/console/get-recommendations/.

2.) Enter 'classical' into the genre field.

3.) Press the Get Token button.

4.) Press Try It.

If you instead use a trackId as a seed, we get a populated list as expected.

Please let us know when this is fixed and / or if you run into a workaround.

This bug isn't new. Someone already posted about this last Saturday. And people commented on this post last Sunday. Lastly, yesterday someone else also posted about this.

So please search before posting next time.

Same here as well. Getting recommendations by genre has been working well for me for well over six months, then suddenly stopped working last week. Is there any update from Spotify yet?
