Giving a Subscription as a gift - Using a VPN

Hello!

My partner and I are Americans with US credit cards working in China for the year. I am hoping to upgrade his free plan to premium as a Christmas gift but want to make sure the fact that we constantly use VPNs to work with the restricted internet here won't interfere. Is there anything I should know when setting up the subscription?

Spotify Premium is a great idea for a gift 🙂

Please note that Spotify is currently available in Hong Kong and Taiwan. You can also check all countries Spotify is currently available here. Keep in mind that, if you're planning on getting your partner a gift card, Spotify gift cards can only be redeemed on Spotify accounts registered in the same country they were purchased. You can read more info here about gift cards.

And a heads-up: Spotify doesn't officially support connections through VPN. If you're having troubles, I'd recommend turning it off. For more troubleshooting, you can also check this support site article.
