hi,

my spotify app (for macos, iphone and windows) can't play a lot of songs. i've tryed to do a clean install but without success. the problem is the same with my iphone and also my friends have the same issue. we know that the tracks are fully available in our country (italy), but we cannot play it (black cover art without timing)

(even with spotify web player the problem is the same)

i've a subscription plan that doesn't work right now. it's annoying ....i don't know why i pay for this service right now....😅

Thanks for getting in touch!

We suspect that this has to do with the host files on your computer so we'd like to ask you to do the following on your computer:

For PC:

Close Spotify if it's running
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
Open the file "hosts" in notepad
Delete any entry you find which contains the name "Spotify"
Save the file
Reboot your computer and try again

For MacOS:

Open Finder and, in Finder’s menu bar, select Go > Go to Folder. In the box, type the following location: /private/etc/hosts and press return.
A new Finder window will open and your Mac’s hosts file will be selected. Click and drag it out of the Finder window and drop it on your desktop.
To open it, simply double-click and it will display the file’s contents in TextEdit .
Check for any entries with Spotify in the address.
If you do find any lines with Spotify, please remove them
Save your changes and restart Spotify.
