problem with spotify premium

i have spotify premium but when i turn my phone offline, with no internet, spotify doesn’t play the songs. but when i out my phone online everything turns normal. why??? with spotify premium i should be able to listen to the songs offline

yes of course, the songs are downloaded, that’s why i don’t understand why
