Confused about Student subscription

I have the student premium, and my account says: Your next bill is for $4.99 + tax on 5/12/20. But after that, it says: Your student discount is valid until 5/4/20. After that date, you'll be charged the normal price for Spotify Premium if you are a Premium for Students subscriber. You can cancel anytime.

I'm confused because I just renewed it this month, but it'll cancel next month?

It sounds like you were not able to apply the discount on your account.

You can start over and try to renew your subscription through this support page.

Bear in mind that there is a 4 year limit on being able to use the discount.
