Hi, I was logged in under my existing account as I already have Premium Duo which I share with my partner. I wanted to sign up for the student plan so I can play music at our cafe and my partner can play music at home. With the duo plan we can only play music at one site. However as I was logged into my existing account, I’ve tried to sign up as a new customer and it’s now saying I’ve already reached the limit on the student plan even though I swapped straight back to duo plan once I realised what had happened.

How can I create a new account and sign up for student plan?

thanks for your help!

Hey @Melissa_crump25 ,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

As laid out in the Terms and Conditions, Spotify is only for personal, non-commercial use.

This means you can’t broadcast or play Spotify publicly from a business, such as bars, restaurants, schools, stores, salons, dance studios, radio stations, etc. To play in a commercial environment, check out Soundtrack Your Brand.

Regarding Premium Student:

That's odd. Have you ever had Premium Student in the past? Can you share the exact error message you're seeing?

Regarding Premium Duo:

You can play music simultaneously if you both use your own accounts. Premium Duo doesn't mean you can listen to music on two devices at a time using the same Spotify account 🙂 You can learn how to invite someone to your Duo plan here.
