Premium duo + kids account

Hello

I have a daughter and she like to have a spotify account. Normally I have to upgrade my account to spotify family. But isn't it possible to use the premium duo account for this matter? If I would upgrade to family I have to charge 15€ a month for just 2 account's (me and my daughter). Because of that I would rather be upgrade to the duo subscription 12€. But is it also possible to create a kids account and integrate it into duo? She is just 11 years old and therefore I would rather create a kids account for her for the time being instead of a premium. If this makes any sense. Is there any difference between the two types of profile?

What restrictions or youth protection measures are there in the kids account in contrast to the normal membership?

I would be happy if someone could help me.

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Currently, Spotify Kids is only available with the Premium Family subscription. This means, that if you want to create a Spotify Kids account, you would need to have that plan. Premium Duo is a plan for 2 people who live together, however, both accounts are regular accounts.

Now, to get all the details about how the Spotify Kids accounts work, you can check out this article. The main difference is that with Spotify Kids, you'll have direct control of what your child listens to.

Hi Susan,

Thank you for your answer. I already tested the Family subscription. But what I doesn't like is that I have to log in with my own account to give her access to Spotify Kids. I'd rather she had her own log in data. If she has problems with the app on the way, I am not there and she has to reinstall the app, I would have to give her my login data including password so that she can use it again. That would be rather counterproductive in terms of the Youth Protection Act. I guess due to this issue I probably change my subscription to duo so she can have her own account. But time will tell. Maybe it'll work properly all the time and it's totally fine with my log in on her smartphone at spotify kids.

This shouldn't be labelled as a problem solved, as it's still impossible to set up a Spotify kids account for a child unless you pay for 5 other accounts (that you don't need) at the same time. It might be better to consider it a problem a knowledged but with no solution forthcoming.

You're totally right! This bother me too! This is most likely intentional, as it allows more sales to be generated.

I have the same problem. I’m a single parent and I don’t need up to six accounts. I need exactly two and one of the accounts needs to be used via Spotify kids. There are so many single parents, why is this ignored?
