student discount + duo

Hi, I'm a student from switzerland who's still living at home with his parents. My mom started to show some interest in spotify and i thought of getting her an own account, but was wondering if i'd do so via duo subscription, am i going to lose my student discount?

If you will be the manager for the Premium Duo plan, you will lose access to your student discount but you'll still have the same Premium features. This is the same case if your mom were to invite you to her plan.

So what is the discount on the Duo plan if you are a student? I've seen several conflicting comments with your comment. And how does one upgrade their student account to the Duo plan without losing the discount?

Hey @JackedNicholson,

I'm sorry for any confusion. I have reported the previous answer as spam because it is incorrect and links to a malicious website. Premium Duo and Premium Student (student discount) are two different plans. You cannot change your plan to Premium Duo and keep your student discount, because the plan's manager would be covering the cost of the plan for two members.

If you're a student and you join or start a Premium Duo plan, you will lose your student discount until you return back to the student plan. There's more information about how Premium Duo works here.
