I have been a Premium subscriber for ages, but this morning I started getting ads. I am not listening to podcasts, only music.

What gives?

Thanks for reaching out.

Unfortunately, you didn't specify the device you're using, but if you're using the mobile app, I recommend heading into the app's settings, and then click on Account. Does it say Premium there?

I'm using it via the Amazon Echo devices.

I did state in my original message that I have a Premium Individual plan.

It's possible that the wrong Spotify account is linked to the device(s). You can learn how to unlink/link an account at https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/How-to-play-music-with-Alexa/ta-p/5283510 🙂

This has been working fine for weeks/months, and I haven't changed anything on the devices.

I understand that, but could you please unlink it and then re-link your Spotify Premium account? Once that's done, please check if the issue persists.

I am having same kind of problem, I'm using mobile app with Oneplus 8T phone. I checked the app and from the account settings and the account type is Premium as it should be. I am located in Finland if that is influencing somehow on the adds. The advertisement is not coming through very often but it's still annoying when the account is individual premium.

I am normally listening to podcast which include adds, but in this case I am getting local adds such as: "-katsasta autosi autokonttorilla tms."
