Switching from premium to duo

I am wanting to switch from premium to duo with my husband and just want to make sure I’m doing it right.
I need to cancel premium first on one of ours and wait until the billing time is up before being allowed to switch right? And then for my account he’ll just have to add me and I’ll have to accept or do I need to cancel also?

Thanks for reaching out.

It's possible to switch plans right away, just upgrade at https://spotify.com/duo 🙂 When the other Premium account accepts the invite, their existing Premium Individual subscription will be canceled automatically.

What if I'm the one switching from individual to duos, do I need to cancel my previous account so that I can start the duos?
