Set time limit on audiobooks/ only allow once chapter at a time

I love audiobooks but a feature that really disappoints me is that there is no way to limit listening times or to stop the app from automatically playing the next chapter.

I use audiobooks to help me sleep and typically I will listen for 15-30 minutes before falling asleep, because I am sleeping the story will continue and I am often using 5-6 hours of audiobook time in one night and lose my whole month of listening times really fast. I would love to set my own limit, that after 30 minutes the story would pause or I can allow it to play one chapter at a time. I would even consider upgrading my listening times but what’s the point because I’ll use it up so fast again whilst I’m sleeping. Please make a feature for the Spotify listeners who use audiobooks to help with sleep! Thank you 🙂

A way to limit the playback of the app to a certain time is with the Sleep timer on mobile which you can access from the Now Playing view of the app > open the Queue > Sleep timer.

However, if you think that there are other users that think like you, you can go ahead and submit an idea on the relevant ideas board. Here you can read more on how ideas work. We also suggest checking this help article for useful tips on how to submit an idea. As a heads-up, it's good to know that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for it to be implemented.

That is a load of croc from Spotify why don’t they implement a listening time setting they users can set as their default.

That way they can set it at say 60 minutes as a permanent timeout.

if they fall asleep then worst case is they only use one hours time. If they are still awake then they just hit a continue button for one more hour.

its that simple Spotify - please implement what I suggest or something similar.

I don’t have the 3 dots, and cannot find a sleep timer… missing half the book every night…

I have the same problem - lost most of my monthly allowance whilst asleep.
