Premium user but it keeps pushing Premium/Duo ads

My Question or Issue

Hey, I've been a Premium user forever. I'm dealing with two weird issues:

1. The android app keeps pushing "Buy Duo!" ads to me. I live alone. I definitely don't need or want Duo. Is it serving these ads to me because it thinks multiple people are using my account? If so, the logic it's using is wrong, because it's just me using Spotify on various devices in my house as I move rooms.

2. The Mac Desktop app now has a 'Premium' button with an external link in the main menu (under Your Library). I don't understand why? I'm already a Premium user and it's taking up precious UI space.

Hi @emstew!

Spotify occasionally runs awareness campaigns for different plans as push notifications in the app. If you aren't interested, you can dismiss them. It's also worth changing your notification settings on your account page.

As for the Premium button on the desktop app, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share a screenshot of it so we can take a closer look.

Hey Yordan,

I really wish these campaigns were more targeted. For those who the plan simply doesn't apply at all like people living alone for example, it's just annoying to receive campaigns without an opt-out checkbox or something to not see them anymore.

In my case for example I live alone, and under the terms of service I could only buy a Duo plan if both users are living on the same address, which is not my case.

It's even more frustrating when you already are a paying customer 😅

I'm here for the same reason. Your UI is clunky already. I pay for ad-free so don't show me an ad when I open the app. It feels very bait and switch.

I'm getting this offer like once per week now. As the original poster, I use it alone and just switch from my phone to my computer a couple of times a day max.
