Why is there no option to pay with google pay for my account?

The help pages say there should be an option for google pay, but I only see paypal and credit cards. I have a premium duo plan in the US.

Hey there,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome!

In order to be able to make payments with Google Pay you'd first have to make sure that you've set it up on your device (if you haven't already done so) and you can check the info here and here from Google's website.

You can then test to update your payment details on another device, in a different browser or incognito-window.

Thanks Ivelina. That doesn't work either. Google Pay works great for me with several apps and devices, and I've been using it for years. Moving to an incognito window (for paying!) is a weird suggestion, and changes nothing. I still have only the options to change credit cards, not to bill to/through google pay.

Even stranger, when I eventually chatted with support, they suggested cancelling my plan, and re-registering. (I don't want to lose the song lists I've made.) Clearly the current support for google pay is minimal and/or broken depending on your perspective. More helpful to admit that so others don't waste time on it.

Thanks for the response @bps67 and apologies for the confusion.

The suggested troubleshooting steps such as a different device and incognito are in case there's a temporary issue with the connection or browser for example, but in your case they wouldn't be helpful as it turns out Google Pay is currently a payment option not available for Premium.

It's currently possible to subscribe via Google Play Billing instead.

We always strive to improve and offer better functions to our users and understand it would mean a lot to you if this payment option was available. I'd like to once again apologize for the confusion and will forward the feedback on to the relevant team.
