Hi! I also have the same problem. My payment method could not be recognized. Tried to update it multiple times but won't work.

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community!

Using GCash to pay for Spotify is still possible, this payment method is not removed.

In order for the payment to go through successfully, make sure that:

Your credit card is issued in the same country as the country of their Spotify account. You can check your account's country settings on your account page.
Your card is open for foreign, recurring and online payments. You may need to double-check this with your bank.
You have sufficient funds in the card that you're trying to use.

In case you've checked all of these and you're still experiencing issues with payments, try using another payment method or an incognito window as it doesn't keep that info saved.

Paying with GCash in Philippines IS NOT working. I have Philippines as country, I live here, my card is issued here, but I cannot choose that as payment option, only debit card or Paypal

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

In this case, just to confirm, are you trying to subscribe to a plan or are you trying to update your payment method? If you try from this Premium web page, so you notice any difference?

If the above doesn't do the trick, as mentioned by @Lyubka above, would you mind trying from an incognito window to check if you noticed any difference?

Lastly, do you notice if this is happening on a different device? If not sure, try from a different device than the one you've been using. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Interesting, from that link I see both Paymaya and GCash, but Im when trying to change payment method from within my account I only have Debit/credit card or Paypal.

The problem is, I have used my BDO debit card as mode of payment for many years and last week it just stopped working. Have tried to remove and re add the same card but it's not working.

So had to change to Paypal, which, surprisingly using the exact same card as is being rejected by Spotify.

I would prefer to pay through Gcash.

Hello, I've been experiencing similar issues in the update for payment method. The only options I have are debit/credit card & paypal. I would like to update my payment method through Gcash though. I've already tried doing the incognito window login. It still showed the same options for update of payment method. Is there any other way to solve this or should I cancel the premium subscription then re-apply my plan?

I've also checked that my account is in the same country of payment method (Gcash) and it still won't show up even if the website suggests that we can pay through that method.

Hey guys! So this is the solution that worked for me:

Go to "Manage your subscription" > click the "update" for the payment method > change the country to any country then change it back again to Philippines and GCash will show on the options now. Hope it works for you too!

Yes. In order for the payment to go through successfully, your GCash account needs to be verified first. You'll find more info on how to do that in this article.

For other payment methods you can use simply visit https://www.spotify.com/premium/.
