4-month free trial not working

I was trying to use a MasterCard Gift Card to pay for up to 6 months of Spotify Premium, including the ongoing 4-month free trial they are offering. However, when I tried putting in the card information, it kept saying "Payment Failed". I tried using an Incognito Tab, a different wifi, and a different device, but they all did not work. Finally, when I switched to paying per month in full, the card went through. However, it did not let me use the 4-free-month trial, and now, instead of getting 6 months of Premium, I will only get 2. I tried to contact Support, but they just kept saying to use a different payment method. I do not know what to do, as I would like to take advantage of the free 4-month trial.

We’d like to gather some insights. In order to be eligible to apply to most trial offers, you should comply with the following:

You’ve never had Spotify Premium before.
You use a recurrent payment method to subscribe, such a credit/debit card. Prepaid cards and Spotify gift cards are not valid forms of payment.
Offers don’t accumulate.

Some offers come with special requirements that you can check on the email communications or the terms of conditions of each.

Keep in mind that the MasterCard Gift Card is a prepaid payment option, which means it is not eligible for most of our offers. You can get in touch with the payment method provider to get more info about how it works.

Lastly, if you’ve already made a payment, note that you’re not eligible for any free trial offers. We’d suggest you go to the account page to double-check your billing date to see when your nest charge will be applied.
