My Question or Issue

I want a simple plan that allows me to play my music playlists on any of my devices. I don't want audio books, podcasts or videos. I have previously paid for my subscription annually using bought gift cards from electrical stores and preferred this to monthly payment also got 12 months for price of 10. My subscription is due for renewal next month but looks like I will be leaving Spotify and going to Amazon unlimited. My reasons being that it is cheaper but mainly as I can pay it annually and also get 12 months for price of 10, Spotify no longer offers this option. There is no point in my staying with Spotify and paying extra for features that I have no interest in. The recent increases claiming to be to increase features are just a front to squeeze more money.

Thanks for sharing your feedback and I’ll pass it on to the right folks. I’m also sorry you’re thinking of leaving Spotify. Gift cards can be found at leading electronic stores near you as Spotify no longer sells them on the website. You can redeem gift cards following these steps.

If you wish to cancel, you can do so following these steps at least 24 hours before the billing date to avoid being charged for another month.

I hope you don’t end up leaving, however, let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for your response. Previously I could buy a Spotify gift card that was specifically for 12 months and this cost the equivalent of 10 monthly payments. I was just about to state that they now only sell cards to the value of 10 or 30 pounds so I was assuming the annual saving was not available, however, I have just looked at the terms and conditions for the 30 pound card and it actually states that it gives 3 months access so this would in fact work out at 10 pounds a month that would still deliver a great saving.

Can i ask one other thing before possibly going down this road. Can you confirm if I would be able to buy several of these cards and redeem them against my account.

I think it used to be you could stack up to 18 months worth of gift cards against your account?.

Thanks for the reply!

I understand how gift cards were previously priced and you may still find this option however it may/may not be available at the store(s) you visit. As long as you're not on the Premium Student, Family/Duo plans, you're able to add Premium time to your account. You're also able to stack up to 18 months of Premium time at any given time to your account.

Gift cards have been pulled from most markets. I certainly have not see one anywhere for at least 6 months here in the UK. So the statement that they are still available is total rubbish. I did the same as you and purchased gift cards annually (in my case direct from Amazon). So all the nice words mean nada. At least be honest and say you've pulled the facility instead of lying through gritted teeth.. if i'm lying then please provide a working link where a monthly (not monetary) 6 or 12 month subscription is available.

Gift cards are still available in your country and it might be an issue about limited retailer availability or stock. If you can't find anywhere to buy a Gift Card, I'd recommend trying a different payment method. There's no official Spotify link to buy 6 or 12 month subscription gift cards online at the moment.

Gift cards are still available? Really. Ok then. Usual stock answer from the local 'bot' account. Not sure what payment methods have to do with it... If there are any 'real' UK users out there who've seen 6 or 12 month gift cards in the wild as opposed to statements made by 'I'm not a Spotify Employee' please chime in where you've seen them.... thanks.

Sorry for delay in replying to this. They are still available from Currys online although rather than being electronic with the PIN number being sent through immediately via email, the physical cards can be delivered or collected from a local store. I purchased 6 £30 cards last week and have redeemed 5 of them on line, my account now shows active subscription till 28/08/27. I cannot redeem the final one till after the 28th as to do so now would give me more than 18 months stacked.
