Hello.

As you all know, you cannot send gift cards sold on SPOTIFY.COM to another user if both are across borders. So, I tried to buy a few months premium for my girlfriend through her account using my bank card... the website won`t let me do this either, throwing an error and asking me to use a bank card from her country. Seriously?

Short of going to the shop and buying a card, which isn`t conducive for a majority of the year. I wondered if there was a simple and easy way to gift my girlfriend premium through Spotify.com (which surely is meant to be the simplest method) despite us currently living in different countries?

Any help appreciated....

Hey @irfinch, thanks for writing.

In order to purchase a Spotify Premium subscription (either for youself, or as a gift card), the payment method you want to use must be the from the same country that your account's registered in.

This means that you won't be able to purchase a gift card and redeem it in an account with a different country setting than yours, or use a payment method from a different country than the one your account's set to. However, we'll make sure to pass your thoughts on this to the right team.

Yeah i am trying the same thing but that is so strange you cant buy another premium account for your girlfriend or someone which lives in another country.
