[Mac App] Play/Pause keyboard button not working

After installing the latest update:
Spotify for macOS (Apple Silicon)
1.2.10.760.g52970952
The Play/Pause button stopped from working. The next and previous Buttons works without problem.

Had a similar issue, restarting Mac would fix it for a moment but then suddenly the play/pause button would stop working again.

Turns out I had the WhatsApp app open, so it seems to be taking control of the play/pause button at some point. Closing WhatsApp immediately fixed this for me. If not WhatsApp, check for other apps that could be doing the same.

This issue seems to be coming from WhatsApp as indicated in the other threads.

you can solve this by disabling WhatsApp from accessibility access and adding Spotify.
