My biggest problem is it will suggest the same song I have repeatedly told it to hide, or select only from a small group of bands and repeat over those. As if there aren't 30 other bands in the playlist, with relatable artists it should be able to spider from. The algorithm is so dumb it hurts.

I have been on premium for years now. I have made different playlist and I can see the music suggestions are all the same songs and nothing changes. More over some of these suggestions are from my own play lists! Surely the algorithm is doing something wrong or ? Does anyone else has the same problem as I do?

Yeah, I've had the same problem for the whole time I've had Spotify. I get "similar to bands you like" suggestions that are that bands albums, and other issues like that. The algorithm is not very wide-reaching from its source of information and that's pretty frustrating for me.

Can confirm this problem. Especially the discovery weekly is so repetitive at time, showing songs I have either saved on playlist, liked, or even hidden. The 'discovery' feeling about is more or less gone when as much as half of the playlist consists of those tracks.

Same here, the machine learning, inference models are quite crappy, I take care of building playlists to please the models feeding the prediction, only like songs which are my favorite, so for tried to collect about 900 songs(took about 4 years), but the algorithm/ml models rarely come up with something I like.

Recommended for today and Album picks both get stuck on repeat quite frequently; adding songs to playlists doesn't necessarily remove them fron the rotation. I dont have social media so check spotify habitually and have had a few instances of either the two recommended sections being so long that i can only take screenshots of them all to then look them up manually, as clicking any one in cases like this guarantees that when i return to the home page, the sections refresh back to the ones it's been suggesting for months. It would make sense to me for "premium users" to have less of a dripfeed, but then i dont find smart technology to be all that smart.
