Spotify IOS update broke MINI Connected

The latest Spotify update version 8.7.28 on IOS 15.4.1 broke the MINI Connected feature on my 2014 MINI Cooper.

All systems are up2date: Car mediasystem, Iphone and Spotify app.

If i connect my phone with USB i now get the message the app is outdated and needs an update. I now can' t use the Spotify app in my car, it used to work before this update and the fruit company doesn't let me downgrade the Spotify app.

Please help!

Hi~ same here on my mini f56.. seems like Spotify may have stopped the support for the model. You can still try to play it though Bluetooth audio. But I still prefer the full experience. Sigh.

I have the same problem since yesterday. Spotify Version 8.7.30 does not connect with my 2016 Mini Cooper.

Received some additional info from other users. Contact has been made with Spotify and they say it’s no longer supported with latest update.. Technological advance is stepping backwards with these issues. It will cost a lot of subscribers, hope they fix it soon.

Also official statement not being an intentional removal and Spotify-team is in investigation.

I have a 2020 Mini cooper countryman S all4 and my spotify app is no longer integrating with my vehicles console. I called Mini today and they confirmed that Spotify removed the idrive connected system from being compatible with certain versions of the idrive connected systems. The Mini rep also confirmed that this change took place 6 days ago.

This is very disappointing! Hopefully this gets fixed quickly and it’s not a strategy to sell more “car thing” devices. The integration of the spotify app with my vehicle was great! Being able to access all of my playlists without using my phone was extremely helpful.
