I am unable to update local files from SD card on both a Chromebook 3 & Fire tablet (7", 5th gen) Spotify apps. Devices alway show initial card contents NOT updated card contents. I have tried: clearing cache & data, reinstalling Spotify, powering devices off/on, nothing works.

It's like the initial card contents are stored at the Spotify mothership and forever referred to, never to be changed by apps calling back to the mothership?

I solved it! I turned on "Show unplayable songs" in the Android Spotify Settings. I don't know how the songs got marked as unplayable as they are totally playable. In fact if I turn "Show unplayable songs" off again the new files are still visible.
