Account Name wierdness

Hey guys,

so I just signed up to Spotify, only, my username is all wierd.

I signed up with FB of course.. and it said "wait, do you already have spotify Misterleroy?" and I was liek no sir.

Now I am logged in, and inside Spotify client, and in my Account Management page my username is set to 1224383578.

When it asked me if I was misterleroy, did it pull that name from the Faecbook profile link, and I declined the "username"?

I dont want to be known as 1224383578 😞

Have you never used Spotify before? If you haven't, it's completely normal to have a username that's numbers only.

Customized usernames are only available for people who registered before September 22nd 2011 (before Facebook was required). You are known as your Facebook name. The number username is only for Spotify's systems to identify you.

Oops, I just found my old account ^_^ you were right.

How to I get rid of the new one created using Faecbook, and keep going with this one - my old one - and merge it with my facebook

Try going to Preferences (logged in your old account) and "Connect with Facebook". If it succeeds, make sure you log in with your old username and password from now on. Don't log in with your Facebook details, it may accidentally log in to the dummy account you just created.

If it fails, contact Spotify support to remove the Spotify connection from your Facebook account and then try connecting it.

I did try that yeah, met with the error "This is already linked to another account".
