Songs Missing from Playlist

According to the FAQ, the availability of songs can change from time to time:

I can understand that music may become unavailable, but it bugs me that there is no communication that the availability changed. Does anyone know if there is a way to find out what songs in your playlist disappeared?

One of the reasons I use Spotify is the lack of friction to discover new music. There is work involved in finding music that you like. So it is frustrating when songs are removed without notice- this makes me feel that my time/effort is not appreciated.

I also might want to purchase a song or an album if it is no longer available- so I know that I will have access to it. As it is now you only discover it is missing when you try to play it.

Hey there and welcome to the Community 🙂

I hope you're enjoying your day.

You can see all "deleted" tracks from your playlist easily, just navigate itself to Edit - preferences and click "Hide unavailable tracks".

Now you can see greyed out tracks, those are removed from Spotify. They can be added back later if record label change mind or re-add local version of track.

Thanks- that solves it. My vote is for this preference to be unchecked by default. You would only encounter this when a track has already been added to a playlist- I would like to see these (by default) on other people's shared playlists as well.

Hi, I have looked all over the community, but cannot find an answer. When I embed the code from my playlists (4) on a webpage I created and compare the playlist on the webpage with the list in the program (Spotify), songs are missing. As I described above I have 4 playlists and several songs are missing. Number in the program are shown above to the right. The songs are not synced with my local files and they are active on Spotify (added). So all the songs should appear., but don't. Anyone?

I can try, but then again I won't be able to see the whole picture! The Spotify team are the best ones to get in touch with if you are worried about privacy since all posts here are totally public.

some one have deleted lots of tracks on my playlist Glid..... last song thats was added is from December 22. but thats not right i have added lots of other song since.... plz help

This is Great that you can see the artist and title of missing song in the playlist in spotify. The problem I am having which I think might just be a switch that needs to be made in the embed code, is that when I embed the playlist into my blog, those missing songs are NOT displayed. Please let me know how I can turn this on for the EMBED CODE. THANKs

@mackinjams - Unfortunately, as far as I am aware there is no way to display unplayable tracks as part of an embedd code.
