Country change

Hello! I moved from France to UK about a year ago. Until now my Spotify account was paid using a French Paypal account linked to a French debit card. Recently I closed this bank account. And as my French Paypal account cannot be linked to an English card, I had to change the whole thing: create a UK Paypal account and switch my Spotify account to UK.

But since I changed my country in Spotify I've lost plenty of songs that are not "available" in UK!!

And at the same time the monthly fee increased from 9.99€ to 9.99£ (12€).

I'm really disappointed. I'm now paying 20% more to have a degraded service quality...

Is there a way to stay with my French configuration? I still have a French bank account linked to my French Paypal but Spotify seems to work only with debit cards.

You will need to have a French payment method - this is the only way. To use paypal you have to have a card linked with it.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

Unfortunately, I can't think of any easy way around your situation. You are correct, according to the help pages a credit/debit card is required to be connected to your PayPal to pay for Spotify. Content licenses not being available in the UK is normally down to the rights holders and licensing agreements, sometimes there is not Spotify can do about missing content.

The subscription prices are based on local currency, so that is why they change depending on your location. Spotify in the UK have one of the highest prices if you where to compare accross all countries in a common currency, I guess I have just grown to accept it.
