When does Spotify charge my card?

I want to upgrade to Premuim (All free trials have been used previously) and I was wondering if it would be better to wait til the 1st of April or if I can just do it now. I don't want to pay the full 9.99 for just 10 days.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

Your card will be charged monthly (every 30 days), meaning you will be billed on the same (or close to the same) day each month (the day on which you subscribe). You can view your next payment date at any time on your online account once you subscribe.

If the date you subscribed and are due to be charged falls on a weekend or public holiday, are you still charged that day? If not, are you charged the business day before, or after that weekend/public holiday?

I'm not 100% sure, I would imagine you will be billed on the specified date or at the closest time to it. The system is entirely automated and from a debit/credit card so I would imagine the payment would go through even on a public holiday.

What happens if you haven't put any payment details in when you signed up? All I did was click 7 day free trial for premium, how am I charged? Does it go on my phone bill?

I just got billed formy monthly premium and I want to cancel my subscription. Do I need to wait until the next date/ 2 days prior they charge my card to cancel my subscription? Or will they issue a refund? I don't want to cancel now if I would not get my money back.

I am being charge monthly and I don't want to be. I don't want the app or the subscription and I want a refund for the 3 months. I have unsuccessfully been attempting to cancel the subscription and the service

If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it, even if it's from a no-reply address.

Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.

Hi,

Spotify just charged me the 31st of August. Is this payment for this upcoming month or is this for the month of August?

I'd like to change my account to "student" so I'm trying to figure out if I should wait the month so that I don't pay again or if the payment was for the month of August.

Hey @JenJen3061,

Subscriptions are paid in advance, so you'll have your Premium service paid until Sept 30. You can login to the website with your username to check the status of your subscription, and your receipts.

For a student suscription, try using this site to validate (if you're in the US).

If it succeeds, when you log back in your Spotify account, and look under the subscription tab the price will change to $4.99 for your upcoming renewal date.

Hey @oduseee,

If you're currently a Free user, yes, you'll be charged immediately, even if you were Premium before.

My spotify premium got cancelled. I tried to resubscribe but I dont receive any pins. Btw, i subscribed with my phone carrier (smart).

Thanks so much for contributing to the community! Spotify Premium charges your card every 30 days so it's up to you whenever you start. Either way its 30 days in between each charge so it wouldn't make since to wait since the charge wouldn't be different.

Hi, I am still on the one-week free trial. And I have subscribed. So when will the 30-day trial start? After the end of the 7-day free trial? The page says I will be charged after the one week but on account info its say I will be charged 0 HKD. Which is true? I haven't got the 30-day free trial yet.
