Activity Bar not updating

My Activity Bar on the side of my spotify is not updating. It used to show the recent listened-to tracks from the 3 friends I followed. Now, it seems stuck and is not updating. Each one of my friends have been sitting on one song for quite some time. And I know that they have been listening to other music; I see their activity on facebook.

Yes, I "follow" these people on spotify. I've tried restarting Spotify. I've tried "unfollowing" one of my friends and then re-"following" them, but to no avail. I loved being able to see what my friends were listening to, and now it's really annoying that their feed is not updating.

Hi, and welcome to the community!

As well as restarting spotify, Try a Clean reinstallation of it. It might just be a slight glitch.

After deleting every spotify related file from my mac, I reinstalled it and the activity bar is now a bit fuller. I'll see if it continues to update. Thank you for your help!

I have the same problem: a friend of mine, is a follower. He used to be able to see my activities, but now not anymore.
We tried everything to solve it:
He is marked as a "follower" on spotify. He tried restarting and reinstrallation of Spotify, tried "unfollowing" and then re-"following" but to no avail. I would like to being able to let him see what I am listening to.

I follow him and I am able to see what he is listening too...

What should I of he do to make it possble for him to see my activities on spotify again?

Problem is solved: one more time reinstallation of Spotify did work!!!

And again the problem is here; my follower friend is not able to see my activities again.
Reinstallation of spotify (again) did not work this time.

I follow this friend myself . On my computer I can follow my friends activities...

Please let me know how we can solve this!!!

WilmaLaarman - First off, please ask you friend to double check that he is following you, as this could be the reason why you are not appearing in his activity sidebar.

I just asked my friend: and he double checked and confirmed that he is following me.
What can I or he do now?

Next up, please open up your Preferences and ensure that 'Share my activity and what I listen to with my followers on Spotify' is checked.

And again the activity bar is not updating.!!!! For days it remained the same.

So a friend I follow and I we both removed spotify and reinstalled it on our computers. That did not help. Today we removed and reinstalled again.

We checked we are followers, and follow...

I also don't see any activity of other people I folow. The activity bar stays empty...

How can we solve this problem now???

Spotify social issues are being investigated by the team, since it seems to be a pretty common issue of late!

If you could add your details to this topic (operating system and Spotify version number (Help/Spotify > About)) I am sure they would be very grateful.
