I do not have spotify through fb...someone created an acct with my email...I changed the password, but I'm stuck with their user name

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

It is not possible to change the username of a Spotify account so you will need to get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to delete your current account so you can re-register with a new username 😉

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Seriously though, it's stupid that you can't change your user name. I got Spotify like three years ago, I chose a ridiculous user name and even though it doesn't really matter that much it kind of bothers me that I can't change it. I mean, would it really be that hard to make it possible to change your user name?

That´s not clever, at all.

When you register using facebook, your username is automatically created as a number (wtf?!) , a big number. Who the hell remembers that number?

It should be possible to change your user name, at least once a year or something..

If you register with facebook, the useThe 10 digit "username" isn't actually used for anything unless you use third party devices and you will be notified of the 10 digit number by email when you request a device password. There's no need to remember it.

ok, but all usernames work that way, if you only login with your computer and your mobile and you set as "remember me", you will never need you username.

But if you want to use somewhere else, you will need to remember your username or access your email to get it. username and password are supposed to be rememberable
