Searching for the original name brings up an artist page with 5 songs, but nothing else and no link to the main artist page (which is under the new name). In the end, it is pretty much the record label/distributor who has to tell spotify to change that stuff to make it all match and sync up. It can be very annoying when it comes to just wanting to hear an artist you like.
