Mismatching ads

Hi! I have been listening to spotify for many years now, and the amount of ads I hear has increased a lot. Not only that, but the ads are also longer. Even with so many ads as we have now, I have only ONCE heard an ad that matched my music style. I instantly added that song (+ many others from the same band) to my playlist. Now my only question is: why the heck are the ads so mismatched? I ONLY hear songs I HATE. I want rock/hard rock/metal/alternative ads. After all these years, spotify should know. How come I only get ads that piss me off, so I have to instantly mute the sound? Having more and longer ads than before is NOT helping!

I suppose you have a free account if you get ads Ads allow you to listen for free. That's rather a good thing.

Personally, I found a good way to avoid ads that I don't want hear : I became premium 😉

So they are blackmailing us to become premium? No thanks. I'd rather use youtube as a souns streaming service lol.

@bsfl They aren't 'blackmailing' anyone as you said.

Everyone knows that ads are not always what we appreciate the most, but whatever it is, it still allows us to be able to get things for free, like the ability to listen about more than 20 millions of songs.

If you prefer, sometimes, the poor sound quality of music videos on Youtube, it's up to you. Personally, my ears appreciate the premium sound quality of Spotify connected to a good sound system 😉

I don't mind ads at all. What I do mind is ads that are absoloutely 0% focused on your preferences. If they had rock ads I would be sooo Happy!
