Hi. For a long time I have been trying to find old albums that were republished in an extended edition, but I can only do this through Google and not everything I can find. I was looking for regular albums, not deluxe versions. They also do not appear in the discography itself. Is it possible to somehow enable the display of original albums, and not reissued ones?
I have attached screenshots that show clearly. Hidden tracks are included in the settings.

(i'm not good at English, so don't judge my translation)

Hi @Aizenberg,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

If an album has been re-released and it's available in Spotify, you'll find a drop down menu at the bottom right of the album that says ''1 more release'' (or the number of the releases available for that album).

If you can't find the one you're looking for neither there nor in the full discography of the artist, it means that it isn't available at Spotify.

Hope this info is useful. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.

Cheers 🙂

Hi @hungrytundra,

At the moment, the mobile app displays only the main release (i.e. the dropdown menu containing any other additional releases is not available). If you feel strongly about this, feel free to submit an idea on our Idea Exchange board. Others can then show their support by giving it a thumbs up and sharing their feedback. More info in this article.

It's also worth mentioning that sometimes, an artist/label may upload two instances of an album, with one of them being unlisted in the discography page and only appearing in playlists. This is done for tracking purposes and to enhance the reach to fans.

Hope this clears things up. Cheers!

Provide original non-remastered recordings

For many classic albums, currently you can *only* listen to the most recent remastered version. This is tragic as often the remasters sound worse than the original. It's so important to have the option of hearing the original version of the album you loved; the version that was released and approved by the artist.

Please provide some sort of option to click on an album and select the original, non-remastered version to play.

As audience members, we imprint emotionally on specific recordings. We listen to an album to recreate that experience. You don't want that interfered with or changed every few years because the labels want to make a buck from a (often crappy) remastered version, and then to have the album you loved *disappear*.

People are out there, in 2025, hunting for CDs to rip so they can get the real experience.

Please solve this. Let us hear albums the way they were intended.

Yes. It's terrible. They hide original versions deliberately to make user experience worse. If you have added a song from the original album to one of your playlist, you still can reach the album from the song's menu. It means, the album is available, but hidden from search and from the artist's page on purpose! They do everything to spoil the app and "fix" what's already working. Spotify used to be so cool, sad it's not anymore
