What's happened to Shellac's catalogue? They're well among my most-listened artists – I don't really see the point of Spotify's million's of songs if I can't blast Prayer To God or Copper.

Shellac missing in German Spotify too - and I also recognized Big Black songs are missing too.

...guess this has to be accepted if you deliver yourself to 'the cloud'

The content (artists, albums or songs) you don't see available on your end have a strict relation to licensing agreements. This depends on the artists or the right holders of the content who have it available in some regions. There's more info here.

Steve Albini removed all Shallac and Big Black music from Spotify to protest their treatment of artists and reluctance to silence moronic antivax podcasts (like Joe Rogan).

I see the poster who clarified that Steve Albini removed his content from Spotify. However, as far as his band Shellac is concerned, Spotify is subbing music from another band with the same name in streams intended to include Albini's music. A big bummer on the day of his passing : (
