How to change podcast recommendation language?

I want recommendations from another than I live in. But they seem to be location dependent.

What am I doing wrong?

Currently there isn't a way to change the podcast recommendation language however we're always open to new ideas 🙂 It seems that other Spotify users also mentioned they'd like to see this feature and posted this idea. You can add your support there by up-voting the idea. We'll inform on any developments there, if there are any. So make sure to subscribe, if you haven’t already.

Unacceptable for expats living abroad. I'm a US expat living in Taiwan, 6 year subscriber. All my podcast results are in Chinese which I can't read, understand, or change in settings. Fail.

We're sorry to see this has affected you in such a way!
There is one thing that can be done in this situation though:

The country and region settings are connected to the payment method of use. In case you have a US card for example, you may list it as the main payment method and this would change your settings to US ones.

That's not an option actually. I have an UK bank account and staying in Sweden atm, tried to change the region in Spotify by updating my payment information but it didn't work. It said " the bank account and region don't match".

You should really try to solve this issue. You know many people nowadays work remotely and even stay in another countries for a few months. This is such an inconvinience and surprised that you haven't updated yet since Spotify was one of the first music subscription service provider in the market.

Thanks for suggestion. Not a solution for me. This is a problem for many and should be an easy thing for Spotify to solve.

It's 2023 and I still can't change the podcast browsing language. This is utterly incompetent from Spotify side. I believe this is NOT and edge case and many people would want this implemented.

It's not a great solution, it should take 3 seconds to change your region in Spotify itself.

@andxspot how is that a solution? This proposal feels more like advertisement. I don't want to use another product to discover podcasts.

Now, I am just using other sources and then search for that podcast in Spotify. Still, Spotify should not bind recommendations to the user's Locale or the country used for registration. Its just defeating the purpose of "recommendations". There should be a filter for that! If I want to discover french or japanese podcasts tomorrow, I should be able to do so!

ohseriously might have sent these instructions which didn't work:
"Log on to The Spotify Community.
Click My Profile.
Click the Subscriptions & Notifications tab.
Change your settings and click Save Changes."
I tried to follow them using Safari / Spotify / Translate Chinese to English. Did not work. This is still a problem.
In my opinion Spotify is using a BBS to get out of hiring CSR people to be accountable and solve users problems. Couple that with music that drops out, these things are pushing me to listen more to my cd's. A different problem but highlights what I'm writing about: when Spotify music drops out 5 times during a song I usually do the clear cache / delete storage then app / power off and reinstall the app. I've done this so many times with limited success. When I write to support they tell me the same thing and the important thing is no one owns it. No TT# means no accountability. After so many years, you think it is intensional so you stop trying to work with their "Help". Last time I spent 14 emails bouncing back and forth with them telling me to make a video. Huh?

This bbs sucks because there's no accountability. Searching on ideas and help doesn't work at all. 1. How to change language on newsletters from Chinese to English for expats? 2. Classical music newsletter? Why isn't this part of the premium sub already? Pathetic really. Where's the survey about the survey I filled out for the survey I filled out the time before? Stupid.

podcasts in wrong language

I live in Belgium, I speak English. My spotify user profile region is UK English. my podcast searches all bring up dutch results, I can't speak dutch. I need to change the language of the app and the language of search results. This is very common in Europe.

I live in Ecuador and sadly Latin America has almost none good podcasters that I like.. I hate almost every recommend music (despise reggaeton) and podcasts
