i added a podcast episode to my playlist with songs, not episodes in it. however, the episode i added has never played in my playlist.

Could you please provide some more information about the issue you're facing? Is the episode not playing when you shuffle or play the playlist, or are you unable to play it when you click on it?

i can play it when i click on it, but not when i put my playlist on shuffle or play it.

Can you try shuffling the playlist once and check your queue if the episode is there or not? You can also share a screenshot of the same with your reply.
