Hi there @themagician58,

Thanks for reaching out.

Spotify would like to make all the world's music available, but this availability can vary over time and between countries, depending on the permissions from rights holders. If the bands and/or their labels decide to provide their content to Spotify, whatever they provide is what will be available on the platform, limited only by specific local restrictions. On the other hand, new content is added to Spotify every day. If you can’t find something you’re looking for now, it may appear (or reappear) soon. Fingers crossed that the bands you mentioned become a part of our catalogue soon.

Hope this clears things up.

Plan

Free/Premium

Country

Device

(iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy 9, Macbook Pro late 2016)

Operating System

(iOS 10, Android Oreo, Windows 10,etc.)

My Question or Issue

There are several Canadian Bands who had relatively successful hits in Canada, possibly throughout North America, in the '80's that have never been added to Spotify. Two bands immediately come to mind: The Arrows and Cats Can Fly. Meet me in the Middle, Heart of the City and Flippin to The A Side respectively were all great songs by these two bands. How do songs get added to Spotify and who controls the agreement to post them on this type of music media platorm? These bands have long since been disbanded however their songs are continually played on radio and their videos can be seen on YouTube. yet I can't I also hear them on Spotify and add them to my playlists? Is this a Band decision? Or is it management and legal issues? Or have they just been over looked? Please add these bands and their songs. Thanks, Magish!
