Hello,

For the last few weeks, I've been experiencing a strange issue on Spotify across all my devices (Windows desktop app, iPhone app, and even connected speakers).

Whenever I play an album or a playlist — whether it's a public playlist or my own — Spotify keeps inserting random, unrelated songs into the Next in Queue section. These are not part of my library, playlist, or album. Many times, they are completely irrelevant to selected album (see attached pic).

Example: 1. I start playing an album from my Library (Autoplay OFF, Shuffle OFF, Enhance OFF, Smart Shuffle OFF) 2.In the Queue, under Next in Queue, there is suddenly an unrelated song ( 2). 3,) Below that, Spotify shows Next from: [playlist or radio] and continues with the original tracklist The random song always plays first, even if I try to skip it.

Things I've already tried: Cleared the Queue before starting playback.Ensured Autoplay is OFF in both “on this device” and “on other devices” settings.Turned OFF Smart Shuffle and Enhance. Logged out everywhere via account settings and logged back in.Cleared cache and reinstalled Spotify on all devices.

The problem still persists on all devices, with different internet connections, and even when I play downloaded offline content.

It looks like Spotify is injecting "recommended" tracks server-side, even when Autoplay is disabled, and it overrides the Queue order. This never happened before — I've been using Spotify for years.

Is this a known bug or an intentional test?
Please advise or forward this to the relevant team.

That does sound unusual. To help secure your account, I’d recommend trying the following steps:

Change your password
Sign out of all devices
Log back in using a web browser
Review your connected apps and remove any that look unfamiliar or suspicious

You can also find all of these options through your Account Overview page for easier access.

Thanks for the suggestions! I signed out of all devices, removed all connected apps, and updated my password. Since then, the issue seems to be resolved, and I no longer get random songs inserted into my queue. It looks like signing out of all devices through the app made the biggest difference. Appreciate the help!

Just to add a final note: after some more digging I discovered the root cause wasn’t actually Spotify itself, but Volumio. In the Volumio Play Queue I found a list of tracks and artists I had never played – they were leftovers from when I once tried to start a playlist via the Volumio Spotify menu (instead of Connect). Because the queue never cleared automatically, those tracks kept being pushed into playback and even showed up in my Spotify account.

Clearing the Volumio Play Queue fixed the issue for good. Your advice about signing out of all devices really helped me to look in the right place – thanks again!
