Hi,

I'm looking for a playlist by another user I used to listen to last summer. I haven't listened to it in the last 90 days so it's not in recent history, and it doesn't show up in search either. It seems like requesting an extended listening history doesn't include playlist IDs, only track IDs. I really don't think it got deleted or privated -- I just saw it the other day in my 'jump back in', but I don't know how to find the way back to it. The user doesn't have it on their profile either.

Does anyone have any tips?

Hey @nrealok,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

This is a bit of a tricky situation, but we'll do our best to help you out! Instead of requesting your Extended listening history, you can go with Account data, since it contains your streaming history for the past year, as well as playlists. Keep in mind that account data doesn't include playlists that have been listened to, only those you've created or saved so if you found the playlist through search you might be able to find it in "Search queries".

Another thing that comes to mind, but is a pretty niche option is searching for the playlist in question within Spotify Messages in case you've shared it with someone in the past. You can also send a message request to the user, who created the playlist, and if they accept it, you can ask them to share it with you.

Hope this helps.

Man, I only requested based on the initial reply and didn't see your edit.

The search queries only go back 3 months. Is there a way to get an extended search history? I do think I looked it up before.

Hi again @nrealok,

Thanks for keeping in touch!

In the Extended Streaming History you’ve already downloaded you can find a list of items listened to or watched during the lifetime of your account (including audio, video, and podcasts). There, you'll see on each track a lot of data associated with it, as mentioned in this article.

We think for your case it’ll be very useful if you try to locate the reason why the track started (e.g. the previous track finished or you picked it from a playlist). To better understand all the info you can find in the Extended Streaming History you can check the "Read Me First - Extended Streaming History" file provided with your data for a detailed description of each field included there.

Also, you can try figuring out the month or some close date for when you last listened to the playlist you're looking for, to see if maybe you locate one of the tracks from that playlist. Then, in the reason why that located track started, you can check if the name of the playlist is there.

Let us know how it goes!
