Desktop app not working on Linux Mint

My Question or Issue

The Spotify desktop app has stopped running on my device. The application doesn't open and I am not able to find any logs for it. I uninstalled with apt purge and installed again but I still didn't work

Hello, I have the same problem.
It's probably due to your older graphics card.
I'm currently trying to get an old Debian package and prevent updates, then the app will work again, greetings Markus.

Tried this out on a live cd in a vm and could reproduce, still no clue why. The upcoming release did however seem to work. If you wish to try it out it is available in the following debian repository:
"deb http://repository.spotify.com testing non-free"
Sample instructions to complement the official install instructions:

echo "deb http://repository.spotify.com testing non-free" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/spotify.list sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install spotify-client
