    <description>&lt;P&gt;This is most likely because spotify still requires old libraries of ffmpeg to play local files, but the libraries in most modern distros are&amp;nbsp;two/three versions newer.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;See this post for a possible workaround:&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have a file on my computer and I've added the directory as a source in spotify and it shows up but it still asks me to import the file.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm using Linux Mint 18 with KDE.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;EDIT: It's doing this with all local files when I try and play them.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
