[MAC] Cannot open spotify after latest update

spotify ran perfectly before i made the new update, now i cant open the program anymore, it always cracks up. i deleted the program and installed it completely new but still the problem remains.

can anyone help please?

Please be aware that Mac OS X 10.5 is no longer supported. There is a legacy version available somewhere however.

I think your issue is your operating system, Mac OS 10.5 is no longer being supported by Spotify announced here. If you can update to beyond 10.5 I would suggest you do that.

There is a topic about Spotify crashing on Mac 10.5 located here (the last few pages are all about 10.5) including a link to an installer which might work for you.

Are you using Mac OS X 10.5.x?

Hi everyone,

Many of you have had problems with Spotify for Mac OS X 10.5. We no longer support Spotify on this operating system which we announced back in November here as a "heads up".

However, we've noticed that many folks have been updating regardless which should not be the case. Our intention was to let anyone using Mac OS X10.5 continue using a "legacy" version of Spotify. In any case, the folks who were using 10.5 were updated, and in many cases these customers have experienced crashes with the newest version of the application (Spotify version 0.8.8. at the time of writing).

To make a long story short, we messed up in updating folks who should not have been updated and we're sorry. We plan on fixing the problem of Spotify updating to the latest version for Mac OSX 10.5 users and we're working on it as I write this. If you're a person who has already upgraded and the application is crashing, we're looking into a solution and we hope to have an update shortly.

Hi there, my spotify won't open now either after getting version 0.9.1.57.ge7405149 in July... all was well for a while but won't open at all now. I am using a mac 10.6.8

It might not do a great deal of good, but can you try a clean reinstallation of the client @ria40 ?
