Yes, it seems that you can either group Amazon products OR Sonos products. So unfortunetly, you cannot have a speaker group which is a mix of the products.

However, it is possible that in the future Amazon and Sonos could allow you to mix their products in a sperker group. Let's hope they do!

HI, I recently got two of thew new Alexa enabled speakers, called "One" speakers. (Sorry, I am new to the Sonos sphere overall)

I have figured out how to group my "Living Room" and "Bedroom" so they play together. However, I can't seem to figure out how to play on my Desktop (in my office) AND the wireless speakers. I downloaded the Spotify App, but seems I can only choose one or the other.

Previously, I was using Apple Music and iTunes, which allowed me to "add" a speaker in the other room via an Airport Express device.

Anyone have any advice?

Thanks!

Hey WillowDog,

Welcome to the community!

You are only able to stream on one device at a time. You can group some speakers together to achieve multi-room audio playback, but this is done by the speaker software and then displayed to Spotify as one device.

So, you cannot play on both your desktop and the wireless speakers. You could however, put another "One" speaker in your office and add the speaker into the group.

Thanks for reply, I was afraid this was the case. Kind of frustrating, tbh. Seems simple enough to be able to "add" the additional wireless speakers when I am using the desktop app -- it can be done in iTunes when using an Airport device. Guess its just a way to force me to buy another speaker, instead of using the perfectly fine Bose that I have on my desktop.

I suppose this is the same reason the Echo Show speaker gets disabled once the Sonos is added in? So, now I have to have the Echo Show and a Speaker in my bedroom, when the Echo Show speaker alone was perfectly acceptable for that room.

So, the Sonos One isn't "adding" to my Alexa network, it's essentially replacing it... 😕
