Distorted sound when casting from mac

Macbook Pro late 2011, Sierra

My Question or Issue

Sound is distorted when casting from my mac. Volume can't be turned down in the app or web-browser without disconnecting chromecast first. When reconnecting volume goes back to full.

This is an issue when casting from iphone too, but from iphone turning down Volume on the phone fixes the problem.

I believe chromecast gets the song casted with too much gain/volume form the mac, and I find no way of turning it down.

Any solutions to this?
