My Question or Issue

Hi, I'm having difficulties installing Spotify on my Mac. I've downloaded the installer, but it won't open when I double-click on it. I've launched the installer through the terminal and get a Killed: 9 error message.

I've also managed to download the .dmg file from http://download.spotify.com/Spotify.dmg and I get the same Killed: 9 error on launch.

Is anyone able to help?

Hey @allan_str, welcome to the Community.

Hope you're doing great!

Could you try the following:

Download UPX. If you have Homebrew run this command in Termnial: brew install upx
Decompress the binary using the follow command: upx -d /path/to/App.app/MacOS/App

Also see “This UPX compressed binary contains an invalid Mach-O header and cannot be loaded.”
