Friend Activity feed on mac not working

Using the desktop app for Mac. Activity feed now just says 'Find Friends', and shows no friend activity . I know the friends I am following are online and listening to music but it is not appearing in the feed. Seeing what my friends are listening to is one of my fave features please help! What is the point of following people otherwise?

note I AM NOT ON FACEBOOK. Is the friend feed disappearing a known problem for non-Facebook users?

Running Premium Family account, Australia desktop Mac Mojave 10.14.6

Currently there are issues with the Friend Activity feed. We've created an Ongoing Issue about this.

The Friends Activity sidebar was working regularly up until today. Now it completely disappeared, and nothing pops up when I press the friends icon in the top right corner. I have the correct settings on and I tried reinstalling, logging in and out, changing the wifi router. The only thing that works is when I unfollow a friend and then follow them again. Then, the sidebar pops up for a brief moment and then disappears shortly after.

Please help me fix this!! For reference, I have Spotify Premium for macOS (Apple Silicon) 1.2.35.663.gb699649e and my computer is an Apple M2 2022 Macbook Air.
