Crossfade not working on Spotify Mac OS

My Question or Issue

I've done a full clean reinstall (twice now) but I still can't get the crossfade to work. It used to work and then at some point stopped. Is this a bug? It's on the settings options so indicates that it should be an option.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

If the crossfade is not working properly, we'd first recommend checking if you're casting the audio from your Mac to another device since the feature doesn't work with Connect. In case you're not casting your music on a different device, we'd recommend changing the crossfade time by dragging the slider from 0 to 12 to see if it makes any difference.

Also, it would be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your Mac - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists. This will help us understand if it could be account-related or not.

Lastly, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

I'm not following your logic here. I am using the Spotfy app for Mac, on my Mac. Crossfade works on Spotify on my phone but not on the Mac app.

There is no option for your family suggestion, nor do I think that is relevant.

Sounds like Crossfade is supposed to work? It used to but stopped working on my Mac App years ago. I'd like it to work if possible.

Is the crossfade option grayed out in your app settings? If not, have you tried changing its value?

Are you testing this in an album or in a playlist compiled from an album? Note that crossfade is disabled in those 2 scenarios (or in any scenario where you have 2 songs that are consecutive in an album).
