How do I verify bitrate on Mac?

Now that I have a premium sub I set my audio quality to "very high", however I can't tell much of a difference in sound quality. How can I check the log files to make sure my mac is streaming at 320 kbps and not any lower bitrate?

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

If you've set the audio quality to Very high, then don't worry: you're streaming at the maximum 320 kbps. It's also worth turning off Auto adjust quality to ensure you get a constant stream of 320 kbps, but do note that this might cause playback interruptions in case your internet bandwidth is slow. Something I'd recommend is disabling the Normalize volume feature in the app's settings as well.

As for the difference in audio quality, you should be able to notice it when switching from Low to Very high, since the two options have drastically different bitrates. Comparing High to Very high instead, the changes they become very subtle and thus harder to hear, so you need to know the song pretty well and really listen in to find them. The way the song itself is mixed, mastered and uploaded to Spotify also plays a huge role in this.
