Plan

Premium

Country
UK

Device

MacBook Air 2020

Operating System

(macOS Sonoma)

My Question or Issue

I’m experiencing a frustrating sync issue between devices.

Earlier today, I spent over an hour organising the “My Episodes” playlist on the Spotify Mac Desktop app. I removed many old episodes and added several new ones, carefully curating the list.

After completing the changes, I opened Spotify on my iOS device expecting to see the updated playlist. Instead, the version on iOS was outdated. Even worse, when I returned to the Mac app, all of my changes had disappeared — seemingly overwritten by the older version from my iOS device.

It appears the Mac version was replaced by an out-of-date sync from iOS, completely undoing my work. This is incredibly frustrating, especially for users who rely on Spotify across devices. Does it mean that Mac application is de facto read-only?

Hey @ynekrasova,

Thanks for reaching out. We're sorry to hear about what happened, we'll do our best to help.

Was this a one-off event? Can you try doing some more minor changes to the playlist to check if it happens again? It would also be helpful if you could see if the same happens with regular playlists or when adding/removing something from your Liked Songs.

If yes, try logging out and back in a couple of times on both devices and/or clean reinstalling the app, re-test and let us know the results so we can investigate further.

We'll be on the lookout for your response.
