Spotify icon has changed (on Mac)

The Spotify logo on the daskbar turned into black-green in a update. Can you change it back (i.e. green)? It looks quite bad.

App Symbol not "edgeless" anymore and crooked

Hi, i just noticed that the app Symbol on MacOS has doesn't have its translucent background anymore and is weirdly aligned making it look distorted.

In Launchpad the symbol seems low res and does not look great.

I can deal with the black background, but the weird angle is bugging me out lol.

Im sure this is not how it's supposed to look?

The app updates on its own when you start it, so you'll receive any new fixes & features automatically 🙂
In case there's an update available and it's not already installed, you will see a blue dot next to your settings:

There reason for the icon changing is because it looked odd in macOS 26 (where all icon have the same shape) so they changed it to make it look familiar.

Just don't change it on macOS prior to Tahoe. It looks horrible.

At least with dark mode, yes, it's been black for a while, but even I am noticing the weird skew effect now. It's like they added a macOS 26 shine effect themselves, even though the OS adds that on its own. It just looks amateur, like you resized something from the wrong side in an Office program and called it a day.

Plus one - this looks horrid on Tahoe. Quick workaround until it's updated, download the SVG from:

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Spotify_icon.svg

Drag-and-drop that onto the icon in the Finder's Get Info window, restart. Still looks slightly out of place, but dramatically less wonky than the current default.
